- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 can (14.5 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Add diced onion and garlic. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Stir in uncooked rice, crushed tomatoes, broth, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- If using, sprinkle with cheese and cover for 2–3 minutes until melted.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
Use brown rice for a whole-grain option (increase cook time as needed). This recipe reheats beautifully — perfect for lunch leftovers or meal prep.
