A stunning, antioxidant-rich drink layered with sweet strawberry purée, creamy milk, and earthy matcha — refreshing and café-worthy.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled

  • 1–2 tablespoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

  • ¾ cup milk or plant-based milk (oat, almond, coconut, etc.)

  • 1 teaspoon ceremonial-grade matcha powder

  • 2 tablespoons warm water (160°F–170°F)

  • Ice cubes

  • Optional: 1 teaspoon lemon juice, vanilla extract, whipped cream, chia seeds

Instructions

  • Blend strawberries until smooth, then simmer with sweetener and optional lemon juice for 5–7 minutes. Let cool completely.

  • Sift matcha powder, add warm water, and whisk until frothy and smooth.

  • Fill a tall glass halfway with ice.

  • Add 2–3 tablespoons of cooled strawberry purée to the bottom of the glass.

  • Slowly pour in the milk over the back of a spoon to preserve layers.

  • Top gently with whisked matcha, again pouring over the back of a spoon.

  • Optional: Garnish with whipped cream or crushed freeze-dried strawberries. Serve immediately.

Notes

Chill all components before layering for clean separation. Use ceremonial-grade matcha for the smoothest flavor.
